If you’re visiting Korea, odds are you’ll definitely spend some time around the Gyeongbukgung area. It makes sense. There’s so much to see, do and eat in that area no matter how many times you visit popular neighborhoods in Seoul, there’s always something new to do. But if you need somewhere to start, you can always check out our Bukchon Hanok Village, One Day Itinerary.

This area is also a treasure trove of snack spots and if you don’t know where to look you might miss out on some seriously delicious eats like these adorably shaped giwa-ppang (기와빵) aka ’tile bread’ from a tiny little spot called Play Seoul (서울구경).
Thicky, Thick Tile Bread
These thick boys are crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside and filled with either nutella, kimchi, red bean or sweet potato mousse. We highly recommend one of the nutella and one kimchi for the perfect sweet and savory combo.

And if you need something to wash it all down with, and you will, they also have a simple selection of drinks like traditional Korean rice punch (sikhye), Korean mix coffee and honey citron tea. If you get the drinks iced, they come topped with a cute little giwa ice cube.

The cafe itself is a tiny spot that’s easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, but it has a cute traditional tiled roof awning like it’s signature bread and some indoor and outdoor seating if you need a place to rest your feet for a minute. It’s a picture perfect snack break and a great way to fuel your day.
