Clio’s Harry Potter collaboration may be the best Harry Potter makeup collab out there. No doubt, some gorgeous collections have been released like the ones by Sheglam and ColourPop. But personally, I just love how chic and understated the designs of this collection are.
Each product takes inspiration from the magical world of Harry Potter without crossing into the realm of cheesiness or camp. These is definitely an everyday makeup collection. The colors range from various shades of browns, oranges, pinks and reds. You won’t be finding any bold glittery jewel tones here.

CLIO PRO EYE PALETTE AIR
This collaboration has three different eye palettes to choose from, one to represent each main character: Harry, Hermione and Ron. Harry’s is a warm red brown toned palette with a golden snitch charm on the case, Hermione’s is a cool rose toned palette with a love potion charm on the case and Ron’s is a (of course) a warm orange coral toned palette with a Ford Anglia charm on the case.
What I love most about these palettes is how practical and versatile they are. There are definitely some colors I’m going to use more than others, but there aren’t any colors that won’t be used. They also have a nice balance of matte, pearl matte and glitter shadows. With these three palettes it covers all the colors you would need for all four seasons.
That’s why I eventually caved and purchased all three. Initially I only bought Harry’s and Hermione’s, but I really felt like the orange palette would round everything out and cover all my bases. A lot of other Harry Potter collaborations tend to incorporate the houses and world of Harry Potter in a more literal way with bold glittery blues, greens, reds and yellows. And while these palettes are very visually stunning, they’re not for everyday use. So, I really appreciate how Clio’s colors are thoughtfully curated while still capturing the essence of the theme.
Aside from the colors, I really love all the thoughtful embellishment like the charms on the cases and the different icons pressed into the powders. It’s going to be really hard watching the designs disappear as I begin to use them more. Each palette comes with a marauders map pouch to store the palette in. And who could ask for anything more?

CLIO CRYSTAL GLAM TINT SET
The Crystal Glam Tints come in four different colors all inspired by Honeydukes sweets. There’s Sugar Quill, Pumpkin Juice, Bertie Bott’s Candyfloss Bean and Chocolate Frog. I got Pumpkin Juice which is a pretty shade of coral, Sugar Quill which is a soft red and my personal favorite Chocolate Frog which is a soft coco brown. While I’m usually drawn to brighter lip colors, Chocolate Frog just gives this soft mocha mousse vibe that’s going to be perfect for spring.
I love how the color selection really captures the sweet, colorful and playful vibes of Honeydukes from the films. These tints are very soft and feminine, so while the colors are not super pigmented, they do stain very well and the glossiness kind of enhances the subtlety of each color. The formula is aIso surprisingly moisturizing without being sticky. I think these tints are particularly great for everyday makeup or even a no makeup look days.
Each tint comes with a matching ballpoint pen and a set of charms to hang off the tint (or anything else really). The charms are such a magical touch and are actually really great quality. I may already be a little biased, but the chocolate frog is my absolute favorite and I actually wasn’t alone in this sentiment because both my sisters asked me to grab them a Chocolate Frog lip tint, too.

CLIO KILL COVER CUSHION
Lastly, the Lumos Kill Cover Cushion. This is just hands down the prettiest cushion I own. I love all the little embellishments from the Dumbledore quote on the front to the Hogwarts puff in the inside. It even glows in the dark adding a little extra magic to the design.
This cushion offers light to medium coverage with a satin matte finish, which is perfect for those who don’t prefer the dewy look. I would say the only downside to this cushion is that it only comes in 3 shades. However, I have heard that the refills from the original cushion fit this case perfectly. So if this case doesn’t come in your shade, you can simply replace the cushion with your refill of choice.
Additionally, each cushion comes with either a Doby or Hedwig plushie keyring. And while I really wanted Hedwig, the Doby keyring I got turned out to be super cute. And I’m happy to report that he is now a free elf.
