3 Cherry Blossom Snacks to Try this Spring

When it comes to cherry blossom season in Seoul, there are 2 different types of cafes you want to target: cafes with a beautiful view of the cherry blossoms and cafes with a cherry blossom themed menu. If you’re super lucky, you may come across a cafe that offers both! Though rest assured, there will be a waiting time to get into these places and seasonal desserts my run out early.

Cherry Blossom Cronuts from Seoul Pastry

Seoul Pastry is a cafe that specializes in delicious cronuts (croissant donut hybrids). While this fad has come and gone in other countries, Seoul Pastry has managed to beat the odd because theirs are just that good. These cronuts are buttery, flakey and come in an assortment of different flavors. My favorites tend to be their seasonal ones like fig cream cheese in the autumn, green tea tree in the winter and of course strawberry cream cherry blossom in the spring.

At the Seoul Pastry in Yeonnam-dong, they have the seasonal strawberry cream cherry blossom cronut, decorate the entire exterior with cherry blossoms, plus the street it’s located on is lined with cherry blossom trees. So you end up engulfed in this magical pink ambiance. It’s a beautiful spot to take pictures at, but an even better place to just unwind and enjoy the season with someone special.

Spring Cookies from My Seoul Bites

Located right across from the famous Seokcheon Lake, My Seoul Bites offers these delicious little cherry blossom cookies that I always get whenever I’m in the area. These delicate butter sandwich cookies come in two flavors, milk chocolate and ruby chocolate. They’re so soft and buttery with just the right amount of sweetness and they go perfectly with cup of coffee or tea.

There is a beautiful outdoor lounge area where you can comfortably enjoy the cookies with a lovely view of the cherry blossom trees across the street. Personally, I recommend grabbing a box of cookies, a cup of coffee and actually going across the street to enjoy them at the park. You can walk around and enjoy the cherry blossoms or simply find a nice bench to sit on and take in pretty the pink vibes.

Cherry Blossom Mochi from Yuki Mochi

Yuki Mochi specializes in the most delicious Japanese gelato mochi I’ve ever had. Each mochi is made to order and they’re so soft, creamy and full of flavor. They usually have about 12 flavors to choose from, some of which are seasonal flavors like their Cherry Blossom Mochi.

The inside and outside of the shop has very limited bench seating. But if you’re not in too much of a hurry, I recommend heading just across the street to Yeontral Park. There are plenty of benches and gorgeous cherry blossom trees to sit under while you enjoy your mochi. However they do tend to sell out of the cherry blossom mochi early (especially on weekends), so keep that in mind when you head over.
