Coming to Korea for a glow-up is increasingly popular. It all makes sense since Seoul is home to some of the best plastic surgery and skincare clinics at affordable prices. But, if your schedule or wallet is a bit tight or you’d prefer something less invasive, there are plenty of other ways to glam up on your next Korea trip. Here’s my go-to glam squad.
Shu Eyelash
Eyelash extensions are my favorite way to boost both my look and confidence. There are a few different types of eyelash extensions, but the ones I’m referring to are synthetic lashes that are applied over your natural eyelashes one by one. A special adhesive is used that is designed to last until the natural lashes fall off on their own.

I’ve tried out a few different places, but I’ve been going to Shu Eyelash since 2015. She by far has been the best in my experience. Even for my wedding in the US, I went to Shu a few days before to get my lashes done right. Whether you’re going for something subtle or dramatic Shu has definitely gotcha covered.

Secret Hair
Getting a fresh cut, color or perm is always a sure way to spruce up your look. Hair salons in Korea are the best! It’s totally the norm to be pampered with drinks, snacks and relaxing shampooing sessions as part of each visit. However, Seoul is literally littered with hair salons so it does take some time, research and yes… trial and error to find the right fit.

I’ve been going to the same salon for several years now. Located in Hongdae, Secret Hair is a small one-man-show kinda place. And damn can this one man cut hair. Not only has he worked with celebrities, but he’s never done me wrong. I always bring friends and family here when they’re looking for a more “Korean-style” look. So if you only have one shot, definitely give Secret Hair a shot.

Minou Nail
Manicured nails are a pretty prominent staple of Korean fashion, especially in Seoul. Like hair salons there are hundreds of nail salons all over the city and they can get pretty pricey depending of where they’re located (and what you want done). Trust me I have definitely done the leg work on this one.

I came across Minou Nail in Yeonnam-dong about 2 or 3 years ago and it was a perfect fit! It’s a small one woman run shop, with great prices and my nails always turn out great! I usually go for simpler gel nails nowadays, but she can totally glam you up k-pop style if you’re looking for something a bit more eye-catching.
