“Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” (aka “폭군의 셰프”) has been one of the hottest k-dramas of the season. The time-slip fantasy tells the story of a modern-day chef who gets transported to the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). The drama follows Ji-young’s daily survival through the art of culinary excellence and we were all here for it. Now that the series has just wrapped up, fans aren’t quite ready to say goodbye.
That’s why Studio Dragon is holding a special “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” pop-up right in here in Seoul! Located in the second-floor basement (B2) of The Hyundai Seoul, this pop-up up brings the tasty world to “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” to ours. I’m not going to lie, the pop-up is small, what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in really cute official merch. They have everything from posters, stickers, and embroidered bookmarks to scrunchies, hoodies and even Ji-yeong’s bag, gabangi!
But what really caught my eye was this Mangunrok keyring (망운록 책 키링). This delicate bag charm features a plush satin Mangunrok and it’s iconic butterfly norigae. It was just too pretty to pass up and it even comes with 2 exclusive photocards of Ji-yeong and the king.
Aside from merch, there are also a few cute photo zones complete with costumes from the drama. And of course the chance to get your hands on a few freebies. If you purchase anything, you can receive 1 out of 6 random photo prints and if you post on Instagram you can also get 1 of 3 random polaroid photos cards. I think it goes without saying that I got one of each.
Pop-up stores for “Bon Appetit, Your Majesty” will be held not only in Korea, but Japan and Taiwan as well, so be on the look out for those if you’re not currently in Seoul. Seoul’s pop-up will be going until October 11th but merch and freebies can run out, so if you’re a fan run don’t walk.
Where is the “Bon Appetit, Your Majesty” pop-up being held?
The pop-up is at The Hyundai mall in Yeouido. The quickest way there is by subway to Yeouinaru Park on the purple line, Line no. 5. It’s about a ten minute walk from exit no. 1 and be sure to use either Naver Map or Google Map below to find your way.
