Pop-ups in Seoul have gained so much popularity that they’ve become the “it” thing to do. Places like Seongsu-dong or Hannam-dong have become a breeding ground for the latest cluster of pop-ups, drawing out couples and influencers from near and far.
Though I find it incredibly difficult to keep up with them all, I do try my best to keep any eye out for unique ones or simply brands that I really like. And that leads me to one of my favorite Korean fragrance brands who is currently having a pop-up in Hannam.
Matthew Chang Perfumes specializes in floral inspired fragrances that really give off this romantic fairytale vibe. I’m not usually into flowery scents, but this line is so light, lovely and perfect for the spring that I couldn’t resist! So, while they’ve totally won me over with their perfumes they just dropped their new line of hand wash and body lotion and I wanted to check it out.
While the space is a bit on the smaller side, it is neatly divided into little stations to make the experience more organized and enjoyable. At the door you are given a balloon and a sample of their most popular fragrance Late Bloom. As someone who owns a full bottle, I can confirm that the hype is warranted.
Towards the back, you can try out the newest line of scents. And, thankfully, you can purchase them at the pop-up. Like any good pop-up, there are plenty of places to take photos and someone on hand to take mini-polaroid photos of visitors. The scenic photozones’ll help with their Insta-story post event. Once you’ve posted online using their hashtag, you get to participate in a lucky draw, picking a small plastic bauble out of a bathtub (cute). We got a pouch and an adorable pack of stickers.
This pop-up is also the introduction of their new mascot, Pureumie, the cutest pastel blue dragon I’ve ever seen. So, there’s a station where you can customize your own plushie dragon bag charm. Just pick the color necklace you want, a pendant and up to 3 initials to stamp on it. It’s such a cute and unique gift from this pop-up. Needless to say it’s already on my bag. I’m obsessed!
