The holiday season is upon us! Seoul has traded in its autumn foliage for glittering Christmas decorations, holiday displays and festivities that are all set to to roll out from November on. For a little over two months, Seoul is engulfed in holiday cheer. So if you’re looking to take in those holly jolly Christmas vibes, here are some of our favorite cafes to visit this time of year.
Cre8 Cookies
Cre8 Cookies has been and continues to be our favorite cookie cafe in Seoul since 2016. The easiest way to describe their cookie is “homemade.” Like fresh out of the oven, no over the top bells and whistles, taking it back to the basics. They’re on the thicker side, slightly crispy on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. And for the filled cookies, ooey-gooey all over your hands and mouth, childhood bliss.

The menu is always good, with special items for every season, but Christmas by far is my favorite! They have adorably decorated gingerbread men, shortbread and sugar cookies. My favorite is their carrot cake cookie which has a sweet, warm, spiced flavor with a gooey cream cheese filling, perfect for the holiday season. And they even have the most delicious hot cocoa and fruit tea bombs to wash everything down with!

Seoul Pastry
Seoul Pastry specializes in delicious cronuts (croissant donut hybrids). While this fad has come and gone in other countries, Seoul Pastry has managed to beat the odd because theirs are just that good. These cronuts are buttery, flakey and come in an assortment of different flavors. My favorites tend to be their seasonal ones like fig cream cheese in the autumn or strawberry cream cherry blossom in the spring.

For the holiday season they tend to offer two or three seasonal cronuts like Rudolph Choco, Milk Cream Snowman and my personal favorite Green Tea Tree. This buttery, flakey cronut comes topped with a delicious green tea cream Christmas tree, small chocolate pieces for the ornaments and powdered sugar for a whimsical snowy look. It’s a beautiful spot to take pictures at, but an even better place to just unwind and enjoy the season with someone special.

Cafe Dasique
Dasique is a Korean beauty brand known for its soft, romantic aesthetic and elegant, wearable makeup. But did you know they also have their very own cafe? Café Dasique in Seongsu is super Instagrammable and known for its cute, cozy, and very dessert-forward vibe. From their dainty cakes to their vibrant drinks, everything is definitely on brand.

Every season at Dasique is specially curated with unique drinks and desserts and Christmas is no exception. Every year they create new limited edition items. Last year we tried their Merry Cherry Santa which was a petit gâteau with a glossy red glaze, filled with rich dark chocolate mousse made from French Valrhona chocolate and a tangy cherry filling for the perfect festive touch.
