Autumn in Korea is hands down our favorite time of year. The colorful autumn foliage, warm sweaters and hot lattes all complete the cozy season vibes. While most people in the west look forward to their traditional pumpkin spice lattes, in Korea we associate sweet potato (고구마), chestnut (밤) and black sesame (흑임자) or injeolmi (인절미) lattes with the fall.

Typically, Koreans aren’t really into the strong spiced flavor of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, so PSL hasn’t isn’t as popular here as it is in, say, Los Angeles. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t be found. So if you’re look for a pumpkin spice latte to complete your autumn vibes, I gotcha covered.
Sunnyhouse
Sunnyhouse has become a bit of a haven for those seeking gluten-free options, which can be incredibly difficult to find in Korea. If you’ve ever found yourself searching for desserts or café experiences where you don’t have to stress about hidden flour or dairy, this is the spot. Not only do they have gluten-free baked goods, but aslo dairy-free options for their drinks.

Much of their menu varies from season to season, so it seems only fitting to add a pumpkin spice latte to the mix for autumn. Their psl is made with real pumpkin puree along with vanilla and all the spices you need to truly enter your cozy vibes era. And if you’re really looking to level things up a bit, be sure to pair it with a slice of their delicious banana bread or moist peanut butter chocolate cupcake.

Everything Bagel
We’ve been going to Everything Bagel since it opened back in 2016. The NY-inspired bagel shop makes their bagels fresh daily and have flavors range from plain, onion and everything to cinnamon raisin, sun-dried tomato and my personal favorite kimcheese. Not to mention a nice selection of cream cheeses made in house.

While their focus has always been their delicious selection of bagels and bagel sandwiches, this year they’ve added their very own pumpkin spice latte to the menu! The drink can be ordered hot or iced and is made with their house-made pumpkin spice syrup. It’s so good, definitely satisfies those cozy vibes and pairs perfectly with a bagel or two.

Plant Cafe & Kitchen
Plant has been one of Seoul’s go-to spots for 100% plant-based food for quite some time now. They bake their own desserts in-house, serve veggie/soy alternatives, and try to bring flavor and comfort so you don’t feel like you’re sacrificing anything. But one of my favorite things about Plant is their seasonal Pumpkin Spice Latte.

As soon as autumn hits I can always look forward to getting my hands on their signature PSL. They make theirs with real pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of clove giving it a richer spicier flavor. It reminds of the milk teas I had in India. Definitely not your Starbucks copycat, but possibly better for it. They’re available hot or iced, with your choice of almond, oat or soy milk.
