Things to Do in Korea in September, 2025

Welcome to autumn in Korea! You’ve made it through the hot, wet summer of 2025 and it’s all blue skies… at least once the temperature cools down and the humidity drops a bit lower. We might still have a bit of lingering summer heat, but September is the start of one of Korea’s most beautiful seasons.

The Weather

September is the start of autumn in Korea, but it’s just the start. Early September is still hot and humid with the occasional rains to sweep through the country. You’ll want to dress cool for the day, but make sure to keep a cardigan or light sweater handy for cool evenings or going onto public transportation or into shops (which can have the AC on high).

The beginning of the month will be as high as 33oC (91.4oF) during the day and up to 25oC (77oF) at night. But it’ll start to cool off after the third week when temperatures drop to 26oC (78.8oF) during the day and as low as 13oC (55.4oF) at night.

What to Wear

The humidity in Korea will drop faster than the temperature, so expect scorching hot temperatures during the first half of the month. We’d recommend keeping your summer staples in rotation like light t-shirts, airy blouses, and breathable dresses. But having a light jacket, cardigan, or overshirt to throw on will be key for the occasional chilly morning or evening. There are also a few storms expected, so be sure to keep a small umbrella handy.

During the second half, the temperature will begin to drop more into those traditional autumn vibes and it’ll be cardigan/light sweater weather before you know it. So make sure to dress warm because the nights will be chilly.
