Mundo Pixar: Into the Worlds of Imagination from Disney and Pixar

UPDATE: The exhibition has been extended until September 28, 2025!!

I literally grew up on all things Disney. My brain is a vast, albeit useless, library of Disney facts and song lyrics. And to this day, I can’t step foot in any country that has a Disney Park without visiting it at least once. So it’s only natural that if there’s a Disney exhibit happening in Korea, I’m going to know about it and I’m definitely going to check it out.

In 2023 we got Disney’s 100th anniversary pop-up, House of WISH and this year we’ve once again been graced with another imaginative exhibit, Mundo Pixar!

Walk into Anonther World

Mundo Pixar is basically your dream come true if you’ve ever wanted to literally step inside a Disney Pixar movie. Located in Seongsu’s Cultural Arts Center (a cool, industrial-style space near Seoul Forest) it’s the first-ever Pixar immersive exhibition in Asia, and it doesn’t hold back. The experience spans over 3,300 square meters of colorful, full-scale sets that don’t just let you walk through them, but actually immerse you in this world, this mundo.

There are 12 themed zones, that teleport you from one memorable place to the next. When we came face to face with with Carl & Ellie’s balloon‑anchored house from Disney Pixar’s Up and it was made to scale, I knew were were in for something amazing and I wasn’t wrong. We sat on the couches in Carl & Ellie’s living room, explored doors on the Scare Floor from Monster’s Inc and had gelato on the streets of Portorosso from Luca. Each zone had some sort of beautiful engaging element that just pulled you in.

The most popular area was definitely Andy’s bedroom from Toy Story, where we were shrunk down to the size of toys surrounded by oversized furniture, giant books and toys the size of, well, us! It was so cool and definitely nostalgic, but personally my favorite area was the Coco section. You start off at the entrance of Miguel’s family home with their gorgeous ofrenda and then are immediate led to the vibrant neon colored Land of the Dead by a floor of moving marigold petals. It was so colorful and full of detail, it really did the movie justice.

What really makes this exhibit stand out is the interactivity and design. You don’t just look at stuff and take pictures, you enter it and engage. You can touch certain props, pose for photos in cinematic lighting, and follow a clearly laid out story path, complete with mood music from the original soundtracks. While I do have my favorites, each area was so beautifully pieced together and thought out, I was glad I picked this exhibit as one of the places to visit on my mom’s vacation.

Exit Through the Gift Shop

The only thing I would say was lacking was the pop-up shop at the end which mainly consisted of t-shirts, tote bags and plushies that were pretty basic and quite pricey in my opinion. I had really hoped for something more exclusive to the exhibit, but alas it was not meant to be.

The exhibit will be going on until Septmeber 28th and if you book your ticket through Interpark they are currently 30% off, thanks to their summer event. So if you get the opportunity, definitely take advantage.

Where is Mundo Pixar?

Mundo Pixar is being held at the Seongsu Cultural Arts Complex next to Seoul Forest. It’s a bit of a trek from any subway station, but there are a few buses that’ll get you much closer.
