So you’re BTS ARMY and coming to Seoul? Here are a few of my favorite spots that are definitely worth a slot on your next Korea itinerary.
HYBE Headquarters
For most ARMY visiting Korea, the new HYBE Headquarters is the first stop on their BTS pilgrimage. Initially, HYBE housed HYBE Insight which was an immersive exhibit for fans of HYBE’s artists – BTS, Tomorrow X Today, Enhypen, NU’EST, Seventeen, and GFriend. They offered a lot of unique interactive elements, installations, gallery spaces, etc. Unfortunately what many visitor don’t know is that the space PERMANENTLY CLOSED in January of 2023.

If you plan on visiting, you can’t go inside, but you can take some nice pictures in front of the building. When there is an upcoming birthday, birthday projects and buses will be set up outside the building. There are also usually BTS posters set up at the bus stops, BTS T-Money Cards at the nearby convenience store and special freebies at surrounding cafes.

Yoojung Sikdang (유정식당)
Yoojung Sikdang is probably one of the most famous restaurants in Seoul. It’s best known for keeping the members of BTS fed back in their trainee and rookie days, sometimes up to 3 times a day. Not only is it popular among ARMY, but locals as well because to be honest… the food is just that good (and affordable).

Nowadays, the restaurant is filled from top to bottom with BTS memorabilia. The space is plastered with posters, banners, dolls, stickers, standees, you name it. And if you’re lucky, you might even have a chance to meet the ajumma who used to feed the boys. She loves talking about BTS, meeting ARMY and sometimes even gives out freebies. Trust me when I say this will be the highlight of your trip. It was for my mom.

Superstar Tteokbokki
Superstar Tteokbokki is one of those places made by fans for fans. The inside is wallpapered in BTS posters and pictures. Even the bathroom is covered in all things Bangtan (which to be honest… I have mixed feelings about). There’s all kinds of merch on display and BTS videos playing on every screen, including the ordering kiosks on every table.

While you go for those sweet Bangtan vibes, you stay for the BTS Set. It comes with a serving of tteokbokki for 2, jumeok-bap (주먹밥), Coolpis and a TON of freebies. The food is so good I would recommend this place even if it wasn’t a BTS utopia, but luckily it’s the whole package. So If you’re feeling extra hungry I also suggest trying out some of their side dishes like their fried chicken and fried mandu. So crispy and flavorful, totally worth stuffing your face for.

Line Friends Square
There are plenty of Line Friends stores scattered through out Seoul, but the one in Myeongdong is one of the newest and definitely geared more towards BTS ARMY. This location is two floors and they always have the latest BT21 collections. They also usually have a lot of sales, discounts on older merch, promotions and freebies when you make a purchase.

The space also has a lot of cute statues and photo zones that are always changing according to the season, special events or members birthdays. They even have wall with handprint plaques for each member, so you can see how your hand measures up with your bias. It’s such a cute photo op.

Space of BTS
This is probably one of the best kept secrets in Seoul, and it’s only for ARMY visiting Korea. Located in Myeongdong, on the 11th floor of the Shinsegae Duty Free is Space of BTS. Now the store itself is small, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in merch. It has tons of merch ranging from t-shirts, jewelry and bags to photocards, figures and keyrings. They have items from sold out and previously released collections, many of which are available at a discounted price.

This store is exclusively for people visiting Korea, so definitely take advantage if you have the opportunity. My mom was like a kid in a candy store. Since it’s a duty free store you will need to have your passport on you along with confirmation of your departing flight in order to make a purchase.
