This festival has been delayed due to the Constitutional Court’s ruling on the impeachment of President Yoon. Check out the update below.
Spring is one of the best seasons to visit Korea thanks to the warm weather and beautiful festivals. And there’s no better way to celebrate the end of winter than by visiting Seoul’s most popular cherry blossom festival. Here’s our complete guide to the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival (Spring Flower Festival).

What is the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival?
The Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival is a yearly festival that takes place in spring behind the National Assembly building in Seoul. The street there is flanked by 1,886 cherry blossom trees and makes for a wonderful view when they’re in full bloom.

While the main attraction of the festival is cotton candy lined street, there are also shops, food tents and festival grounds directly north of the street along the Han River Park.
Of all the cherry blossom festivals in Seoul, the Yeouido festival is the most popular and gets incredibly crowded on the weekends. For that reason and others, we recommend visiting on a weekday and preferably a few days before the full-bloom is scheduled. Visiting at night is also great due to the colored lights set up along the street. The cherry blossoms give off this hauntingly romantic glow at night that is wildly underrated.
The main street is 1.7 km (1 mile) long so it doesn’t take more than 15 minutes walk the entire length. But you’ll definitely want to stop to take pictures and videos along the way.
When is the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival?
In 2025, the festival will be taking place from April 8th to the 12th, weather permitting. Last year, the festival dates changed about a month before the festival was set to begin so please keep that in mind when making your travel arrangements.
The Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival takes place every year in the week leading up to the day that cherry blossoms are projected to bloom in full. Depending on the weather, this changes every year.

Where is the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival?
The festival takes place along the V-shaped street behind the National Assembly Building in Yeouido. Most visitors walk along the street and enjoy the view of all the trees showering petals when the wind blows.
- Address: Yoonjoongro Cherry Blossom Road (Google Maps, Naver Map)

How do I get to the festival?
The easiest way to get to the festival is to take the subway to National Assembly Station on line no. 9. From there, you can take exit 6 and walk straight until you reach the first major intersection (Yeouiseo-ro). You can make a right there and enter the festival area.
Tips for the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival
Late-bloom for 2025
Due to an extended winter season, it looks like cherry blossoms across Korea are blooming later than expected. So while the festival is scheduled to end on April 6th, this date is subject to change.
Arrive before the rains
Every year, heavy rains roll through Seoul and taking the cherry blossom petals with them. If there’s rain projected on or around the full-bloom date, make sure you visit earlier while the petals are still on the trees. A sudden downpour in 2023 took all the cherry blossom petals from the trees making for a less than stellar festival.
Best times to visit
Early mornings around 9 AM are the best time to visit. There are much fewer people around and you can get photos of the area mostly to yourself. The festival itself opens at 11 AM, but that just gives you time to take photos with great lighting.
Weekends are likely to have a sea of people, but it thins out at night. Which is a shame because the entire street is lit up in multi-colored lights. The festival looks best during the day, but its got a definite vibe at night.
Take your time
The entirety of the festival can be seen and walked through in less than an hour. But you’d be missing out on enjoying the ambience, taking photos (and videos), eating snacks, and watching the street performances. We recommend carving out 2 hours to take a leisurely stroll and enjoy everything the festival has to offer.
