Paper Art Exhibit in Seoul: Paper, Present @ Daelim Museum

Posted on May 17, 2018 by Lexi • 2 Comments

Lately I find myself getting reacquainted with my artistic side. I’ve always been pretty artsy, at some point I was even aiming to be an animator for Disney. Though that dream has come and gone, every now and then I find the need to draw, paint or simply create something new. Recently I’ve been obsessing … Continue reading →

Super Moon Project @ Seokchon Lake

Posted on September 28, 2016 by Lexi • Leave a comment

It seems like there is a new art exhibition gracing the surface of Seokchon Lake every year. In 2014 it was the “Rubber Duck” and in 2015 “1600 Pandas.” Both projects drew out huge crowds, especially over the weekends. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to have braved the crowds to see them both. This year the “Super … Continue reading →

Jeju-do: Loveland (제주러브랜드) **NSFW**

Posted on August 19, 2016 by Lexi • 5 Comments

Loveland is what I consider to be one of Korea’s little anomalies. In a country where the talk of sex is often taboo and even even proper sexual education is practically non existent, Loveland seems a bit out of place (to say the least). After the Korean War, Jeju-do became a popular honeymoon destination for newlyweds (and … Continue reading →

100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo (Seoul)

Posted on October 6, 2015 by Lexi • Leave a comment

Doraemon is definitely one of the most popular animated characters in Asia. For anyone who is unfamiliar, Doraemon began as a Japanese manga and turned into an animated series. The main character (Doraemon) is a robot cat from the 22nd century who goes back in time to help a young boy named Nobita Nobi. What’s interesting is that … Continue reading →

Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. (Seoul)

Posted on September 3, 2015 by Lexi • 2 Comments

When Avengers: Age of Ultron came out in Korea, it was a pretty big deal. Not only was Korean actress Claudia Kim (김수현) cast as Dr. Helen Cho, but the Korean government paid close to $2 million to Marvel to ensure that Seoul would be shown in a positive light. Personally I can think of a million better … Continue reading →

Inside Seoul’s Ghibli Exhibit

Posted on January 28, 2015 by Lexi • 1 Comment

Once a again Studio Ghibli has decided to grace Seoul with another phenomenal exhibit. This is Ghibli’s second exhibit in Seoul and I have been lucky enough to see both of them! Ah yes, it’s a wonderful time to be an otaku living in Seoul. Unlike the previous Layout Design Exhibit, which featured original art and … Continue reading →

Rubber Duck Project: Seoul

Posted on November 11, 2014 by Lexi • 3 Comments

On October 14, 2014, I was overjoyed to learn that the giant rubber duck I had heard so much about had finally made its way to Seoul! My friends in the US and China had all boasted their best pics with the infamous duck via Instagram and Facebook in the past and now it was … Continue reading →

Steampunk: Art of Victorian Futurism

Posted on May 7, 2014 by Lexi • Leave a comment

I can always count on the Seoul Arts Center to have some new and interesting exhibit to check out. Honestly, sometimes they have so many that I can’t even keep up with them. Finally, thanks to some much needed vacation time, I was able to head back there to check out their Steampunk exhibit, which is … Continue reading →

Studio Ghibli Layout Design Exhibition

Posted on August 21, 2013 by Lexi • 5 Comments

Ever since I first watched Spirited Away, I have been a devoted fan of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. The beauty and creativity that are signature to his films are, in my opinion, unmatched. While I have never thought much of his human characters (because they all look alike), the amount of detail and imagination … Continue reading →

The cherry blossoms are in full bloom here in Korea!!! While they get a lot of attention during the day I really love viewing them at night. They somehow look extra magical.
Cherry blossom season in Korea is absolutely breathtaking! I feel like there are more and more cherry blossom trees each year, and personally... I can't get enough!
Spring has finally sprung here in Seoul and I'm all about it! Flower gazing, outdoor coffee dates and even a new fragrance. I'm definitely ready 😆
There's nothing more romantic than cherry blossom season in Korea. There's just something so magical about walking beneath these cotton candy looking trees. When it starts to "rain" cherry blossom petals on a breezy day... it simply takes your breath away!
The daylight is lasting longer, the weather's getting warmer and I'm so ready for some beautiful spring weekends!!!
You guys asked for it, so here it is! Jin's Slightly Spicy Ramen recipe 💜
