Whenever we travel, we always try to visit a museum and, lucky for us, Korea is chock full of them. And while the National Museum of Korea is definitely not one to be missed, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art has wonderful exhibitions and is located near the heart of downtown Seoul just down the street from Gyeongbokgung, making it a convenient stop on any itinerary.

Celebrate Bok-nal with a Hot Bowl of Samgyetang in Tosokchon

Samgyetang is a traditional Korean ginseng chicken soup. It consists of a whole chicken stuffed with garlic, glutinous rice, jujube and ginseng and cooked in a flavorful broth. It’s believed to help refresh the body and renew ones stamina. So naturally, it’s probably one of the most popular dishes to eat during bok-nal.

Beyond Korea

The Trip Not Yet Taken

I really want to see that place in Taipei that part of Spirited Away is based off. I want to see shrines and ancient places that I can’t see anywhere else. I want to take in the culture. And the nightlife… not clubbing. But I guess that’s eating again.
