Visiting the Metamong (Ditto) Garden in Seoul

First, there was the Pokemon Camp takeover of Lotte World, then there was Lotte Pokemon Town 2025. And now, we have a special Ditto Garden at Boramae Park in Seoul, the perfect place to spend a late afternoon or evening while walking through a a pastel sea of dittos.

Welcome to the Ditto (Metamong) Garden in Seoul

If you aren’t in the know, ditto is the 132rd Pokemon in the Pokedex and first debuted in the Kanto region. He looks like an unassuming purple blob, but that’s only because his specialty is transforming into other Pokemon!

Ditto was also at the center of this year’s Lotte Pokemon Town event which featured a separate Ditto Garden, a ditto-pikachu meet-n-greet and a massive inflatable ditto-pikachu riding a ditto-lapras, along with a wonderfully cute Ditto clubhouse. This event has since passed, but I’m sure the ditto statues were too cute to put into storage so they’ve found themselves in Boramae Park in southwestern Seoul.

Boramae Park is a beautiful public park located near Boramae Park Station and Shindaebang Station. This year, from May to October, it’s also hosting the Seoul International Garden Show. The event is planned to be open from spring to fall and features 111 show gardens, plant vendors, and food trucks making it a wonderful place to visit on the weekends.

The park itself is as beautiful as it is massive with over 400,000 square meters to traverse. We walked around for about three hours in the early-summer heat before we caved and sat down near the food trucks for some well-earned snacks.

While the Seoul International Garden Show will be at Boramae park until the end of autumn, the Metamong Garden is a limited-time event scheduled until June 22. So make sure to visit soon!

Where is the Metamong Garden?

Metamong Garden is located in Boramae Park. There are two ways to get to Boramae Park:

  • Go to Shindaebang Station on the green line (line no. 2) and walk over from exit 4,
  • Or take the dark blue line (line no. 1) to Boramae Hospital Station and walk from exit 1.

If you’re not certain which way is faster, we recommend using Naver Map and taking the recommended route that way.

  • 서울 동작구 여의대방로20길 33 (Naver Map)
  • 33 Yeouidaebang-ro 20-gil, Dongjak District, Seoul (Google Map)
