There’s something to be said about superficiality when it comes to food. About how the look of a food matters far less than the flavor and the taste (for some). But then we found Dalim Bread (달임막) and their adorable bear shaped rolls.

Cottage-core Bakery
The shop itself is completely open air and features an ordering kiosk and pickup station. It’s decorated with the cutest cottage bakery elements and even gives low-key Ghibli vibes. If anything, you should stop to take photos, order, and then get back in line for pickup.

Ordering at the kiosk is super easy with Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese language options available. There are a few coffee options and one option for the bread set itself. After that, the staff will redirect you to stand in line for pickup as the food is prepared to order.
There is outdoor rooftop seating if you prefer to eat your bread at a table, but each person in your group is required to purchase a drink in order to do so. We had just had coffee, so we opted to just eat our bread on the go.

The bread set itself is 12,000 KRW, which is a admittedly a bit high considering it’s 2 bread rolls, honey and the kaimak butter. Now the bread itself is great, light and fluffy like American style dinner rolls, but it’s scarcely what I’d expect for 6,000 KRW per roll. So I suppose it’s a good thing that the kaimak and honey dipping sauce are absolutely amazing. The three combined together are in a word… perfection, delicious beyond anything we could have imagined.
The honey and kaimak are presented separately to you can adjust the sweetness to your liking. The set includes an adorable eco-friendly bear spoon you can use to combine the two into something that is creamy and sweetly decadent. Again. Delicious.

How much does it cost?
The bread set is 12,000 KRW and if you get coffee, you can grab a seat on the 2nd floor. Keep in mind, if you do not order coffee, you cannot use the seating on the 2nd floor.

Where is Dalim Bread?
The bakery is located just a 5-minute walk from Seongsu Station on the line no. 2 from exit 4. It’s located in the heart of Seongsu-dong in the sea of pop-ups of that neighborhood. If anything, Dalim Bread offers a nice break from all the walking.
