“Bon Appetit, Your Majesty” is the newest Netflix K-drama and definitely one that everyone’ll be watching for the next month while new episodes roll out.
The story follows Yeon Ji-yeong, a 3-star Michelin chef, who travels back in time and finds herself in the royal court of King Yi Heon in the Joseon dynasty.
Well, actually she finds herself lost in the woods and runs across the king’s sights while he’s hunting. And, true to his reputation as a merciless tyrant, he chases her down and accuses her of being a gwinyeo (a female spirit).
We’re only 2 episodes into the series, so it’s still too early to tell whether it’ll be a classic favorite or just a story to bide our time until something better comes along, but we’ve decided to start our new video podcast review of K-dramas on our SeoulSearchingLexi Youtube channel.
We’ve uploaded our react and review of episodes 1 and 2 this week. SPOILER ALERT, we react and talk about the episode while we’re watching it. So if you haven’t seen the K-drama yet, just know there are spoilers.
