Cre8 Cookies: Homemade Style Cookies in Seoul

Since 2016, Cre8 Cookies has been and continues to be our favorite cookie cafe in Seoul. It’s a big claim, I know, but we’ve gone through a lot of “cookie crazes” here over the years and we have selflessly devoted our bodies to this important research. Whether it’s love or lard, Cre8 just stands out above the rest.

I guess the easiest way to describe the taste is “homemade.” Like fresh out of the oven, no over the top bells and whistles, taking it back to the basics. They’re on the thicker side, slightly crispy on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. And for the filled cookies, ooey-gooey all over your hands and mouth, childhood bliss.

Typically they have around 9 classic cookies to choose from, but I always look forward to their holiday and seasonal menus. Christmas time is my absolute favorite because they go all out with adorably decorated gingerbread men, shortbread and sugar cookies. This year, they hit me with a carrot cake cookie that I can only describe as holiday perfection. It has that sweet, warm, spiced flavor with a gooey cream cheese filling that only enhances the overall experience. I had two… in one go… and I’m not ashamed to admit it.

Of course, you can’t have cookies without something to wash it down with. Right now they have an amazing hot cocoa bomb and fruit tea bomb to choose from. The fruit tea bomb is so warm, full of fruity flavor and soothing. It’s the ideal drink on a chilly winter’s day, not to mention it’s absolutely beautiful! 100% Instagram worthy!

If you’re in need of something a bit heavier and comforting with a hint of holiday magic, then the hot cocoa bomb will totally scratch that itch. The flavor is so rich it goes perfectly with any cookie. It’s also a lot of fun to watch it melt into the perfect combination of chocolate and marshmallows.

And if you can’t get enough like us, or simply want to share the magic, they make special gift boxes for special holidays. We’ve ordered some and had them sent out for Christmas, Parents Day and event Valentine’s Day. This year, however, we couldn’t resist bring some home to enjoy later. You can always order some cookies straight to your door, but we recommend dropping by the cafe to bask in the smell of fresh cookies… while, of course, indulging in a few.

  1. I just looked it up on KakaoMap, and it turns out I went to the café underneath it in the spring. Wouldn’t have noticed the cookie shop upstairs! Hope to check it out next time I’m in Korea ~
