All the Decks for All the Halls at Roger’s Gardens

Of all the festive things to do during the holiday season in Southern California, visiting a home and garden store would definitely not have been on my list. But the spectacle is enough that it’s worth If you’ve never been or even if you’ve heard about it but don’t really know what to expect (like me), Roger’s Gardens during Christmas is basically holiday magic with a gardening and decor twist.

Roger’s Gardens is an iconic Southern California home and garden decor destination that goes all out for the holiday season. Every year, the place transforms into a winter wonderland with a huge “Christmas Boutique.” I’m talking about glittering trees, heirloom ornaments, wreaths, and garlands all curated with a nod to European holiday tradition and artisan craftsmanship.

It is absolutely stunning, like walking through a beautiful Christmas display except everything is for sale. So If you fall in love with something, like I did, you have the option to buy it and take it home with you. There were hundreds of different ornament and decorations, from hand-painted German Santas and wooden nutcrackers, to delicate Polish glass baubles and heirloom level holiday decor. There was a whole section that was gingerbread themed and I really just wanted to copy and paste it into my house.

I’m not going to lie, the place is a little bit on the pricier side, but if you really dig into it there are quite a few good buys. And even if you don’t buy anything, wandering around gives you tons of really great decorating ideas. It’s basically like walking through several different Pinterest boards. It’s also a chill way to spend an afternoon with family, friends, or your special somebody, just strolling through the boutique, enjoying the lights and decor, and soaking up the festive mood.

In a place like Southern California, where winter doesn’t always feel like winter, Roger’s Gardens gives you a warm, festive experience that blends SoCal sunshine with cozy holiday spirit. Whether you come to hunt for the perfect ornament, pick out a holiday tree, or just enjoy the vibes, it’s a sweet little tradition that feels like the start of something magical.
