Love the Skin You’re In (Pt. II)

Hello all! It’s been quite some time since I’ve written a post on the fabulous beauty products and cosmetics here in Korea. As I’ve said before, it can be quite a hassle to rummage through all of the  stores out here in search of the ideal products. Lucky for you, I’ve done all the heavy leg work. So, here are three fantastic products I recommend for all you guys and gals.

It’s no big surprise that life in Korea can really cut into your beauty sleep. It wasn’t until someone called me a panda that I realized I needed something to take care of those pesky dark circles forming under my eyes. There are a lot of products that claim to relieve dark circles under the eyes, but many of them don’t work. “Eye’s Cream (Mint Cooling)” from Etude House, however, is the genuine article. It is a simple cream stick that you apply around your eyes, pat in with your fingers and you’re done! I use it everyday and just put my makeup on over it. It dries very quickly and doesn’t leave any residue or oily sensation. It’s very gentle on the skin too, so it doesn’t cause any acne breakouts. I even got my boyfriend’s brother to start using it and it has really made a difference. It doesn’t work all at once, but if you use it everyday, you should be panda free in no time.

I found another fantastic face wash! Skin Food’s “Honey Black Tea Cleansing Foam” is my new favorite face wash. Being a cream that lathers into foam, I thought it might be a little weak and incapable of removing ALL the oils and dirt from my face, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Not only does it fully cleanse my face, but it’s also very gentle on my skin and has the best acne control component to it. In addition, it leaves a lovely light honey fragrance on my face.  My dog really loves sniffing me after every wash. It’s now the only acne control product I use; Once in the morning, once at night and I’m good to go! As a side note, if you wear heavy eye makeup, you may need to wash your face twice to get everything off or use a separate make-up remover.

Speaking of make-up removers… “Milk Shake Point Make-up Remover” from Skin Food is hands down the best make-up remover I have ever used. It’s a two-layer lip and eye make-up remover, that combines a purple oil with a milky lilac formula when you shake it. This magical product removes any and all make-up almost effortlessly. I use Korean make-up as well as American make-up, some of which are waterproof, but it seems to handle anything I throw its way. It’s also very gentle on sensitive skin (like mine). It does have a very light sweet fragrance to it, but it’s not overwhelming and doesn’t last long. I have been using it for about three years now and have never needed another make-up removing product.

Well that’s all I have for now folks. Hope you found these reviews helpful. If you get a chance, you should definitely give them a try. Also if you have any questions or want me to review any particular type of product just let me know. Until next time…
