Hanbok Expo Seoul

While I’m not really a summer person, one thing that I look forward to every year is Hanbok Expo! What is Hanbok Expo? Hanbok Expo (한복상점) is a yearly convention where hanbok designers (both traditional and modern) from all across the country gather to sell, showcase and promote… well… hanbok! The hanbok industry has flourished so much since I first wrote about it back in 2016.

How Safe is it to Travel to South Korea? (along with Safe Travel Tips)

On the whole, South Korea is one of the safest countries in the world. Theft and petty street crime are rare and while violent crime certainly exists, the vast majority of tourists aren’t likely to encounter it during their travels.

But still, make sure to practice the same safety precautions you would at home while you’re here and you’ll be more than fine.

Celebrate Bok-nal with a Hot Bowl of Samgyetang in Tosokchon

Samgyetang is a traditional Korean ginseng chicken soup. It consists of a whole chicken stuffed with garlic, glutinous rice, jujube and ginseng and cooked in a flavorful broth. It’s believed to help refresh the body and renew ones stamina. So naturally, it’s probably one of the most popular dishes to eat during bok-nal.
