Paint Tonight Seoul

Paint Tonight Seoul

Coming up with new date ideas after over a decade of dating can be a bit tricky to say the least. So, I was really excited when I came across “Paint Tonight” on Instagram. I have seen so many pictures on Facebook of my friends back stateside taking part in these “wine and paint” classes and I’ve always wanted to give it a go. Now I finally found a place to do it in Seoul!Paint Tonight

Paint Tonight is typically held in a little cafe/bar called Most Jazz located relatively close to Sinchon station. Most of their classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays from 3:00pm~5:00pm, but occasionally they have some during the week. The classes are ₩35,000 per person and you can register for them online. What’s cool is that you can look at all the different pictures they will be teaching how to paint for the month and pick your class accordingly.Harry Potter Inspired

The classes are all in Korean, but to be honest it didn’t matter too much since it’s mostly visual. The art teacher we had did a pretty good job at breaking down the painting and giving us enough time to complete each part. Unless you’re me… then no amount of time will ever be enough. Also, my boyfriend and I are both artistically inclined so at some point we started to do our own thing. He came out with this pretty cool Harry Potter inspired painting. I came out with some kind of Elsa moon princess painting. Not quite sure where I was going there, maybe I’ve just seen Frozen more times than I care to count.Moon Princess

I think the only disappointment was the drink selection. First of all, a drink purchase is required and it’s not included in the ₩35,000 fee. Secondly, they had only one wine option and ALL the drinks were overpriced. I ended up ordering a latte, which was awful and not even a full cup. If buying a drink is mandatory and pricy, the least they could do is make it taste good.Paint Date

All in all we had a pretty good time and the instructors were really nice about giving everyone a bit of extra time to complete their paintings even though the 2hrs were already up. They also gave us some canvas totes to take our paintings home in. I think I’d definitely like to try it again sometime, perhaps when I need to let out some pent up creativity.
